Our Name
Why are we called Canh-Vinh & You?
The reason behind our name is because I want all volunteers to know that they are not alone. At the least, if not anyone there is me, Canh-Vinh and together we are going to achieve our goals.
The name Canh-Vinh & You is not intended as a way to self promote or to claim ownership of this charitable group. To break things up, 'Canh-Vinh' provides the organisation with a face, someone trustworthy and responsible for the group's activity. We are not a faceless group but a group of like-minded individuals who come together with a common goal, that is a passion to share what we have with others and give hope to those that need it.
Additionally, the 'You' in our name instead of any other collective term is used because that is exactly our intention. Each member is a treated as a distinctive individual with different values, prospects and talents. Yet, when collectively together we will work cohesively as a team, where everyone is a treasured member. Canh-Vinh & You is a group of people coming together to celebrate what we have and seeking ways to share this blessing with others. It is highly important that we work as a team and take care of our volunteers and supporters.
Acknowledging that each member has their own lifestyle and commitments with family, work, and social life, we sincerely appreciate their selflessness and passion to help others.
We see the people who join our 'family' at Canh-Vinh & You for who they are. Whether they are a mother or a father, a sister or a brother, an uncle or an aunty, a daughter or a son, all will have different responsibilities and commitments outside of their volunteering role. Therefore their experiences and contributions are catered to their varying lifestyles. They are not seen just as a member but are welcomed as themselves and what they can offer to Canh-Vinh & YOU.
